Edward Francis West, 59, of Salem is in custody after alledgley slapping a juvenile and then later pointing a firearm at him last Sunday at about 4:00 p.m. The disturbance began after two, 17 year old juveniles, crossed the street in front of Mr. Francis's truck on Center Street near Lancaster Drive NE in Salem.

(October 8, 2014, 11:14 am) SALEM, Ore On October 7, 2014, an Indictment was filed in Marion County Circuit Court charging Mercedes Alvarado with Manslaughter in the Second Degree. Mercedes Alvarado, 25, is charged with recklessly causing the death of her daughter Aniya Zamora, who was three years old at the time of her death on April 19, 2013.

Deputies initially received a call from a citizen driving on Silverton Road who reported a male subject walking in the roadway. Oregon State Police Arrest Salem Teen in Stolen Car, Find Meth as Well
(October 3, 2014, 11:30 am) WEST LINN, Ore. One of the passengers, 19-year-old Zach Chronister from McMinnville, was cited and released to appear in court of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.

A 19-year old Salem resident was arrested by Oregon State Police early Friday morning after a trooper determined the car he was driving was stolen out of Marion County.
